Cataloguing the library holdings of the CPRI

Since September 2020, two of our board members, Gabriela and Michal Kasprzak, have regularly donated their time to organize, edit, box, and catalogue the library holdings of the Canadian Polish Research Institute. Unfortunately, these holdings have not been updated since the 1980s. The first step has been to go through each of the sources, and box them according to their subject area. In these last few months, we have been able to work through 40% of the content. These works are slowly being catalogued at LibraryThing. However, we still have to shift through and catalogue the archival sources of the Institute. For this, we will need to hire a professional librarian-archivist, who will be able to properly catalogue the archives. As well, our goal is to digitize these materials and make them accessible to everyone. Proper digitization (pub3 format) is a costly process. We hope that with the support of the community, we will be able to achieve or goals. If you would like to support our cause, please donate here.
